Moxi FAQ

Moxi FAQ: Everything You Need to Know

What is the Moxi Laser Treatment?

Moxi is a non-invasive laser treatment designed to improve skin texture, tone, and overall appearance. It works by delivering controlled microbeams of light to the skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin rejuvenation. It’s often used to address sun damage, fine lines, uneven skin tone, and mild to moderate skin imperfections.

How Many Moxi Treatments Will I Need?

Many people see improvement after just one session, but for optimal results, a series of treatments is often recommended. Typically, 3–4 sessions spaced about 4–6 weeks apart can yield the best results, depending on the condition of your skin and your goals.

Is Moxi Laser Treatment Painful?

Moxi treatments are generally well-tolerated. Most patients experience mild discomfort, often described as a warm or prickling sensation. A topical numbing cream is usually applied to minimize any discomfort. The pain is minimal and resolves once the treatment is complete.

The procedure typically takes 20–30 minutes, depending on the treatment area. You will feel some heat and tingling, but it’s usually not painful.

Can I Wear Makeup After a Moxi Face Laser Treatment?

When first getting back to your routine after a Moxi treatment, you should avoid makeup to allow your skin time to adjust. We recommend waiting 24–48 hours before applying makeup.

How Do I Take Care of My Face After a Moxi Laser?

  • Avoid touching or rubbing your skin – Keep your hands off your face to reduce the risk of infection.
  • Stay hydrated – Drinking plenty of water will support the healing process.
  • Gentle cleansing – Clean your face with a mild, hydrating cleanser (preferably one free from harsh chemicals or exfoliants).
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 1–2 weeks and wear SPF 30 or higher daily to protect your skin from UV damage.
  • Avoid heat and sweating – No hot showers, saunas, or strenuous exercise for at least 48 hours post-treatment.
  • Cold compress for discomfort – If you experience swelling or discomfort, apply a cool compress to the treated areas (but avoid placing ice directly on the skin).

How Long Does a Moxi Treatment Take to Heal?

  • Immediately after treatment: You may experience redness, swelling, and warmth in the treated areas—similar to a mild sunburn. This typically lasts for a few hours.
  • 1–3 days after treatment: Your skin may begin to peel or flake, which is a natural part of the healing process. Your skin can also feel dry and tight.
  • 1 week after treatment: By this time, most of the redness and swelling will subside. If peeling occurred, the dead skin likely shed, revealing fresher, smoother skin. Your skin might still be a bit sensitive.
  • 2 weeks after treatment: For most people, full recovery is complete within 1–2 weeks. You’ll begin to see improvements in skin texture and tone, with the best results appearing over the following weeks as collagen production increases.
