BBL HERO™ is an advanced light-based treatment designed to improve sun damage, pigmentation, redness, and visible signs of aging on the face and body. Using BroadBand Light (BBL®) technology, the treatment delivers targeted pulses of light into the skin to address unwanted pigment and vascular concerns while promoting a clearer, brighter, more even complexion.
BBL HERO is highly customizable, allowing treatments to be tailored to your individual skin concerns and treatment area.
Clearer, More Even-Looking Skin
Over time, sun exposure and aging can lead to visible changes in the skin, including brown spots, redness, uneven pigmentation, and a dull or uneven complexion.
BBL HERO uses specific wavelengths of light to target pigment and vascular concerns within the skin. The light energy is absorbed by the intended target—such as melanin in a brown spot or hemoglobin in a visible blood vessel—allowing the body to gradually clear the treated areas.
The result is skin that appears brighter, clearer, and more even in tone.
What BBL HERO Treats
BBL HERO can be customized to address a variety of skin concerns, including:
- Sun damage
- Brown spots and age spots
- Freckles
- Uneven pigmentation
- Redness
- Visible facial vessels
- Rosacea-related redness
- Uneven skin tone
- Signs of photoaging
- Overall skin clarity
Rather than treating every concern in exactly the same way, your BBL settings are selected based on your skin, the condition being treated, and your individual goals.
Face & Body Treatments
One of the advantages of BBL HERO technology is its ability to efficiently treat both the face and larger areas of the body.
Common treatment areas include the:
- Face
- Neck
- Chest
- Arms
- Hands
- Back
- Other areas with visible sun damage or pigmentation
This makes BBL HERO especially useful for patients who have accumulated sun damage beyond the face and want a more consistent appearance across multiple areas.
What Happens to Brown Spots After BBL?
Pigmented areas commonly become temporarily darker following treatment. This is an expected part of the process.
Over the following days, the treated pigment may develop a coffee-ground or pepper-like appearance before gradually flaking or fading away. As the pigment clears, the underlying skin can appear brighter and more even.
It is important not to pick or aggressively exfoliate these areas while the skin is recovering.
BBL HERO for Redness
BBL HERO isn’t only for brown pigmentation. Specific settings can also target redness and visible blood vessels.
Light energy is absorbed by hemoglobin within targeted vessels, helping reduce the appearance of unwanted redness and creating a more even-looking complexion.
Because redness can have many different causes, your skin will be evaluated before treatment to determine whether BBL is appropriate for your particular concerns.
More Than a Corrective Treatment
BBL HERO can be used to correct existing sun damage and discoloration, but it can also become part of a long-term skin maintenance plan.
After completing an initial treatment series, periodic treatments may be recommended to help maintain clearer, more even-looking skin and address new signs of sun exposure and aging as they develop.
BBL HERO + MOXI™
For patients looking to address multiple aspects of skin aging, BBL HERO and MOXI can be performed together as part of a comprehensive skin rejuvenation treatment.
The technologies complement one another:
BBL HERO primarily targets visible pigment and vascular concerns such as brown spots, sun damage, and redness.
MOXI™ is a fractional laser that resurfaces the skin to improve tone, texture, pigmentation, and overall skin quality.
Combining the two allows us to address concerns at different levels of the skin during one treatment plan.
Customized to Your Skin
BBL HERO is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Skin tone, recent sun exposure, tanning history, medications, medical history, and the specific concern being treated all need to be considered before treatment.
At Rammos Plastic Surgery & MedSpa, we evaluate your skin and customize your treatment settings based on your individual needs and goals.
