Rammos Plastic Surgery

Thigh Lift

Thighplasty, also known as a thigh lift procedure, is an extensive procedure that removes excess skin to create smoother, better-proportioned thighs. Liposuction is occasionally used in conjunction with removing the excess skin to improve the outcome. Since there are several approaches, Dr. Rammos will consult with you to determine the technique that will provide the best results.

Thighplasty is typically performed as an outpatient surgery under general anesthesia.

The inner thigh lift is the most popular, but you may also consider targeting the outer thigh, a combination of areas or the entire thigh. Incision placement varies depending on the approach. Incisions may be located in the inner groin region, lower buttocks or inner thigh area.

Post-surgery, your wounds will be bandaged and you will receive a supportive compression garment to wear over the thighs for 4-6 weeks. This garment helps minimize swelling and promote healing. You may also experience soreness and bruising, which diminishes over the following weeks.

You should expect to be absent from work for seven to 10 days. Full recovery usually amounts to six weeks. You will notice surgery results almost immediately, though it may take a number of weeks before you are completely healed and swelling has subsided.
