Babis Rammos, MD, FACS

Dr. Babis Rammos is a double board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in aesthetic surgery of the breast and body. He completed his plastic surgery training at the esteemed Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN before pursuing one of the nation’s most prestigious aesthetic surgery fellowships in North Carolina, endorsed by The Aesthetic Society.

Dr. Rammos serves as Division Chief of Plastic Surgery, Vice Chair of Research, and Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria. He is an active member of several leading surgical societies, including The Aesthetic Society, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Recognized nationally for his surgical expertise and academic contributions, Dr. Rammos was named one of America’s Best Plastic Surgeons by Newsweek as voted by his peers. In 2025, he was also honored with the prestigious “Ted Lockwood Award for Excellence in Body Contouring” by The Aesthetic Society. This award was established to recognize Dr. Ted Lockwood’s visionary contributions to aesthetic body contouring and is presented to a plastic surgeon who demonstrates dedication to research, clinical excellence, patient safety, and peer education through scientific publications, clinical presentations, and ongoing innovation in body contouring surgery.

This award was created to recognize Dr Ted Lockwood’s visionary contributions to aesthetic body contouring. Mission trip to Vietnam with Smile Network International, a non-profit organization based in Minneapolis. Operations were performed at the Hanoi National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology including cleft lip and palate, and complex face and nasal reconstructions. The operations were offered to patients who otherwise would not have received treatment due to either lack of monetary resources or complexity of their disease.
