Breast Procedures

Many women are unhappy with their breasts. Some wish their breasts were larger, others would prefer their breasts to be smaller; most wish their breasts would not sag as the result of aging, breastfeeding, and pregnancy. Fortunately, Dr. Rammos performs a wide variety of cosmetic surgery procedures that can change the shape, size, and appearance overall of breasts. Dr. Rammos works closely with every patient during the initial consultation to make sure they get the best results possible for the look they desire with the shortest recovery time possible.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is surgical procedure that enlarges and enhances the size, shape, and projection of your breasts. In the 50 years since plastic surgeons began performing breast augmentation, it is become the most popular type of cosmetic surgical procedures in the United States. Breast augmentation has come a long way throughout the decades – advanced incision techniques and materials provide a reduced appearance of scarring, along with a natural look and feel.

Breast Reduction

Very large breasts can be uncomfortable, interfere with participation in sports or athletic activity, affect the way clothes fit, and even cause emotional distress. In these cases, breast reduction can greatly improve quality of life. Breast reduction has a very high satisfaction rate, and many women report improvement in body pain after the procedure.

During breast reduction, the plastic surgeon removes excess skin and breast tissue to reduce the size of the breasts, and to make the breasts ride higher on the chest wall to create a slimmer, more contoured shape.

Breast Lift

Breasts can sag and change shape as the result of aging, weight gain and weight loss, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. A breast lift raises the breasts higher on the chest wall to make them appear more youthful and perkier. Breast lift surgery can also reduce the size of the areola, which can enlarge over time.

The breast lift surgery involves removing excess skin and tightens surrounding tissue to reshape the breast, and to support its new contour.

Breast Implant Removal

Some women choose to have their breast implants removed due to personal preferences, health concerns, or other reasons. They may feel their implants were too large, for example, or they were hoping for a different look or feel. Sometimes women choose breast implant removal because their implants ruptured or they experienced changes in the scar tissue that holds the implant in place.

During breast implant removal, the cosmetic surgeon can usually create an incision along the previous incisions from breast augmentation, and remove the breast implants through this incision.

Following breast implant removal, other procedures can restore breasts to their desired appearance. A breast lift can change the shape and position of the breasts, for example, and transferring fat to the breast from other parts of the body can give more volume to the breasts.

Breast Implant Exchange

Sometimes women are happy with the overall effects of breast implants, but not quite satisfied with the breast implants they received. Some women might have wanted a different size, for example, while others have suffered a rupture or other complication with their implant. Many simply want to go from saline to silicone, or go from silicone to saline. Fortunately, a breast implant exchange can help women get the breasts they desire.

Also known as a breast implant revision, a breast implant exchange entails removing the existing breast implant and replacing it with a different one. In many cases, depending on the type of surgery, Dr. Rammos can use the initial incision made during the first breast augmentation procedure for the breast implant exchange.
